Buildings/Services : Building energy efficiency through the introduction of district heating and cooling systems(Government Gwacheon Complex, Pyeongchon Lotte Department Store, etc.)

GS Power has successfully transitioned from outdated electric cooling and gas heating system to eco-friendly district heating and cooling systems, achieving energy savings and carbon emission reductions. By replacing electric refrigeration systems with environmentally friendly thermal energy-driven district cooling, we have contributed to reducing peak power demand. The entire business was conducted as a public-private partnership business, recovering the initial investment cost entirely through energy cost savings without using government budgets.

Urban infrastructure : Heat recovery from sewage treatment plants and municipal waste incineration plants(Ansan City, Bucheon City, Seoul Tancheon, etc.)

GS Power is collecting and utilizing renewable energy comprehensively, including the sewage heat generated in the urban sewage treatment process, the biogas generated in the sewage sludge digestion process, flue gas heat from the incinerator scrubber, and the process cooling heat, to supply it as district heating heat. Through this business, GS Power is contributing to energy savings, carbon emission reduction, and urban resource circulation.

Special Facilities : Data Center Heat Recovery(GS Caltex)

GS Power has successfully developed and demonstrated a system that supplies chilled water for constant-temperature and humidity control to data centers while simultaneously recovering the heat for use in space heating. This system achieves dual energy savings by reducing the power consumption of existing data center electric refrigerators and reducing LNG consumption for heating.

Industrial Processes : Energy Savings through Industrial Waste Heat Recovery(Banwol Dyeing Cooperative)

GS Power is achieving energy savings and carbon emission reduction by recovering thermal energy from dyeing wastewater generated by the dyeing industry and supplying it for district heating, thereby replacing conventional LNG CHP(Combined Heat and Power) systems. During the heat recovery process, GS Power established a system that operates without using electricity but is powered by an adjacent power plant exhaust heat using steam-driven heat pumps. At that time, four of the world's largest 3,300 USRT steam-driven heat pumps were introduced to maximize energy savings.

Power Generation Facilities : Combined heat and power plant(CHP) efficiency improvement business(Anyang CHP, Bucheon CHP, Incheon Total Energy)

GS Power has developed a system that applies an absorption heat pump to the heat production process of Combined Heat and Power(CHP), recovering waste heat from the power plant's equipment cooling. Currently, it is in commercial operation in domestic power plants such as Anyang CHP and Incheon Total Energy.

Renewable Facilities : Fuel cell reaction heat recovery(Bucheon fuel cells, Korea Midland Power fuel cells)

The low-grade heat recovery project at the Bucheon fuel cell power plant, conducted as a government R&D project, has succeeded in increasing the energy efficiency of the existing phosphoric acid fuel cell(PAFC) power plant from 65% to 90% by applying district heating cascade heat utilization technology.
