FUEL CELL

Fuel Cell

Fuel cells are a high-efficiency, environmentally friendly power generation system that converts the chemical energy of hydrogen and oxygen into electrical energy through electrochemical reactions. GS Power has been operating a 4.8MW-class phosphoric acid fuel cell (PAFC) power generation facility in Anyang combined heat and power plant since its installation in September 2010, and a 10.5MW-class phosphoric acid fuel cell (PAFC) power generation facility in Bucheon combined heat and power plant since its installation in May 2020. Fuel cells generate energy without combustion reactions, resulting in minimal emissions of pollutants such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides, making them an eco-friendly power generation system compared to conventional internal combustion engines.
